Library World Tour

"Make thy books thy companions. Let thy cases and shelves be thy pleasure grounds and gardens." - Judah ibn-Tibbon (12th century)

Entering a library is like stepping into a magical world where anything can happen. For me, it's like a feast for the senses and more. The butterflies that flit about my stomach then race through the rest of my body thrill me as I look around at the books before me. The anticipation of discovery is almost too much to bare!

Sliding a book off the shelf, I read the title and slide my hand lovingly over the cover. This one is a hardcover with engraved lettering and no pictures. It may sound kinky but I just love touching books, fabric hardcovers, slick and glossy softcovers...just about anything will do. The smell of fresh print is exciting and the musty odor from older books tell of great history.

What lies inside these covers is the best part of all. Who knows what adventures await should I decide to steal a few moments and jump inside its pages?!

Each week at Rudigirl's Book World, I'll talk about a different library. It could be from anywhere around the world. It will be fun to learn more about some of the places I love best! I hope you'll join me on my world tour of libraries and comment me with your thoughts or suggestions for future stops.
